A television advert which promotes Spalding is expected to reach five million ITV viewers when it screens shortly.
The aim of the £30,000 joint venture – produced by Springfields Outlet Shopping Centre in partnership with the town centre – is to attract people during Easter.
The “Visit Spalding This Easter” campaign will be broadcast on Yorkshire, Central and Anglia regions from March 28 to April 6.
Spalding town centre manager Dennis Hannant, said: “The advertisement gives an excellent portrayal of what Spalding is all about and what it has on offer.
“The town has a good mix of independent and national shops, restaurants and cafes. Combined with one or more of our tourist attractions, such as Ayscoughfee Hall, a trip on the Spalding Water Taxi and of course a visit to the Springfields Outlet Shopping Centre and Festival Gardens, makes a fantastic day out.
“We hope to see more visitors to Spalding during the Easter holidays and on into the summer as a result of this advert.”
And Phil Scarlett, president of Spalding and District Area Chamber, said: “The advert is a fantastic platform to communicate Spalding’s diverse cultural offering to a broader audience, helping to position the town as an exciting visitor destination.”
Ian Sanderson, head of Springfields, saw the project as “an excellent example” of strong working relationship between the retail outlet, town centre and South Holland District Council.
Footage for the advert – funded by a S106 planning cashpot provided to benefit Spalding when Springfields received approval in 2004 – was shot last August.
