Spalding motorist (78) is twice drink-drive limit

A 78-year-old Spalding man has been banned from the roads for 20 months after being caught more than twice the drink-drive limit.

Michael Stuart Edwards, of Parkside Crescent, was arrested in St Thomas’s Road, Spalding, on May 6. He had 77 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Edwards pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol when he appeared before Boston Magistrates’ Court on June 7. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim services surcharge.
