Spalding man (44) in court on sexual offences charges

A 44-year-old man facing two charges of inciting a girl under 16 to engage in sexual activity has had his case sent for trial.

Roy William Hayes, of Gaunt Close, Spalding, is said to have:

  • intentionally caused or incited a girl of 13, not reasonably believing she was 16 or over, to engage in sexual activity involving the penetration of her vagina with her fingers on April 7, 2014
  • intentionally caused or incited a girl of 14, not reasonably believing she was 16 or over, to engage in sexual activity of a non-penetrative nature (expose her breasts) on October 11, 2012

Hayes is also accused of intentionally attempting to cause or incite a girl aged 15 to engage in sexual activity, not reasonably believing she was 16 or over, involving the penetration of her vagina with her fingers on July 30, 2014.

He appeared at Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (March 8) and was granted unconditional bail until his next scheduled hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on Monday, March 20.
