Spalding logo and strapline competition: deadline extended

The deadline for a competition to create a new logo to promote Spalding town centre has been extended to enable more entries to be submitted.

The Town Centre Management Board wants a logo and a strapline to appear on all its letterheads, posters and flyers and, where appropriate, signage.

There are two prizes – £100 worth of vouchers for the best logo and £50 worth for the author of the best strapline. The vouchers have been donated by Hills Department Store, Beales Department Store and AlleyCatz Bowling.

The board believes that the promotion of Spalding’s heritage base including food, flowers and horticulture, as well as excellent retail, business services and leisure offerings will be a key part of the promotion strategy of the town centre business plan.

The competition is open to anyone and the rules are:

  • All entries should be an original design and must be submitted by the designer. All entries should include a logo and a strapline.
  • Deadline for submissions is now 5pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, and they can be either in freehand as hard copy or computer generated.

Entries, including name, phone number and/or email address, should be posted to Spalding Town Centre Manager, Business Development Centre, 10 Broad Street, Spalding, PE11 1TB or emailed to [email protected]

The best designs will be published in The Voice and readers will be asked to comment before the judging panel make its decision. The winners will be made public on December 29.

An award ceremony will be held in the New Year.
