Spalding High School is pressing ahead with its plan to convert to an academy.
Following a formal consultation carried out by the governors, this week they voted unanimously to continue the process.
Chairman of the governors, Dr Peter Gorton, said: “I would like to thank the students, parents, staff and stakeholders who have participated and shared their views on this matter with us. No significant objections have been raised during our consultations.
“We are at the start of a long journey, but rest assured, our prime objective remains to protect and preserve the ethos of our very special school.
“After half term we will begin our formal discussions with the local authority, regional schools’ commissioner and the Department For Education.”
Academies are independent, state-funded schools, which receive their funding directly from central government, rather than through a local authority.
