The golden girls from Spalding Gymnastic Club were on impressive form once again at a recent county floor and vault competition.

The Spalding strarlets showed what a fantastic group of gymnasts they are by winning many medals on the day – which also ensured that seven of the squad will now represent the county in the regional finals, which are to be held at New College in Leicester.

In the eight years group, Maisie Foden won the silver, with Darcy Orford getting bronze at the Cradge Bank event. In the nine years section there was a great gold for Lily Thompson.

Ruby Vertuccio then took gold in the ten years group, ahead of Alice Bailey (silver) and Lucia Kato (bronze).

In the 11 years group Liberty Foden picked up silver, with Amelia Fox bagging bronze and Alice Baxter fourth.

Another medal came in the 12 years category as Grace Mooney took bronze, with Ellie Keeble fourth and Millie Parsons fifth.

The 14 and above years group also went Spalding’s way, with Chelsi-Lee Parker winning gold and Emma Gregory taking fourth.
To complete an amazing day, Thompson and Vertuccio were then crowned joint county champions.

Thompson, Vertuccio, Bailey, Kato, Mooney, Parker, Keeble and Gregory will now all represent the county team.
