Spalding dad’s ‘juicy’ art exhibition

A Spalding dad’s abstract art is set to go on display at Ayscoughfee Hall next month.

Joey Lowe’s exhibition ‘100% Juice – No Seed’ is set to run at the venue’s Geest Gallery from March 4 to 28.

After having success touring exhibits in the local area, Joey said the initial idea was for an exhibition for several abstract artists.

“Through networking I’ve met a few other local abstract artists but their views on not doing an exhibition themselves is ‘no-one in Spalding wants to see abstract art,’” he said. “So I decided to prove them and myself wrong.

“I’m hoping it inspires other artists in creating future exhibitions which offer these art forms a platform for the public to view.

“I’m a yellow belly, born and bred – I studied in London but returned to Spalding to settle down with a family.

“I’m no Damien Hirst or Jackson Pollock. I’m just a 28-year-old dad who loves throwing paint at a canvas.”
