Spalding Cycling Club make donation to Breast Unit at Peterborough District Hospital

Spalding Cycling Club have handed over a cheque for £357 to the Breast Unit at the Peterborough District Hospital following their fundraising efforts over the 2019 season.

During the competitive racing season, Spalding play host to various events such as their grass track, hilly time trial and 25-mile time trial – all of which are open to cyclists from other clubs.

At these events, the club members provide cakes, coffee and teas for riders post racing, with monies raised from the sales donated to a charity.

The money donated will go towards purchasing a localizer, the latest hand held version of a machine that can accurately pinpoint where the internal lesions are and make the pre-surgery procedure less stressful.

These cost £5,000 and are not funded by the NHS.
