Spalding coffee morning focus is on mental health issues

Encouraging people to talk about mental health issues is the aim of a coffee morning in Spalding next month.

About one in four people are affected each year, so the message from charity Time To Change is that no one should be ashamed to discuss it.
To help get Spalding talking about mental health, Give It Some Fizz Fitness, Sports and Education will be hosting the coffee morning at Ayscoughfee Hall for Time to Talk Day on Thursday, February 4.
The event from 10.30am-noon is free for people to drop in and have a chat about mental health.

Organisers say the chat could be as simple as asking someone how they are feeling that day. People can also find out where they can go for more support about mental health issues.

Zoe Myall, from Give It Some Fizz, said: “People sometimes find it difficult to talk about mental health issues although a lot of us at some time in our lives can feel that the world is on top of us.
“This is about talking about how you are feeling and getting support, instead of feeling you have to bottle everything up.
“We would like to invite anybody who would like to come along to join us on February 4th to share a cup of tea or coffee and chat.”
