The Spalding branch of Hughes Electrical has closed.
The Voice understands staff were informed it wouldn’t be open at 8.30am this morning (Monday, February 5).
Signs have gone up in the Sheep Market store’s window saying: “These doors may have closed but we’re still open” with a link to the brand’s website.
There was no mention of the closure on the branch’s Facebook page which is still posting offers.
One member of the public commented on one of the posts to mention the closure.
They received a reply which said: “We are so glad to hear you have enjoyed your local Hughes store and we will feed this back.
“Please be assured that you can still experience great Hughes’ service on our website and at our other store locations. Many thanks the social team.”
A spokesperson for Hughes Electrical said, “As a successful business we have to respond to the rapidly changing ways customers choose to do business with us.
“This has seen an unprecedented increase in the use of our website over the past 12 months.
“Regrettably this has resulted in us having to make some difficult decisions; one is the closure of our store in Spalding.
“We are in consultation with the four members of staff and hope to be able to offer some alternative positions within the company.
“For customers who have equipment on rental from the Spalding store nothing changes, if they do have any questions, they can call our dedicated rental team on 01480 418950.”
