Spalding bookshop nominated for national award

A Spalding business has extra reason to celebrate World Book Day today (March 1) after being nominated for a prestigious award.

Bookmark, based in The Crescent, has been named in the regional shortlist for The Book Awards’ Independent Bookshop of the Year.

Bookmark is one of four named in the East region, one of which will go through to the national final.

Bookmark’s manager Sam Buckley, said: “It’s fantastic to be nominated and a real honour to be recognised.

“The award is about growth but its also about innovation and changing bookshops for the modern world.

“We put customer service first stocking a good range of books and gifts.

“We try and be like a local hub and community centre by putting on events and hosting groups. We look to do that little bit extra.”
