Spalding and District Table Tennis League hoping for a better month in July

June was a quiet month for the Spalding and District Table Tennis League’s summer sessions.

The first two weeks saw six players turn out, but the bad weather hit attendance the following week. This was followed by another poor week when the officials were unavailable at the start of the evening, so no one was prepared to put up tables.

On the plus side, now that exams are finally over there will be more space and therefore more tables will be available from this week throughout the rest of the summer.

The hours will now revert to winter hours of 7-10pm, with up to six tables available during July and August.

The normal visitor fee will apply to all comers at £4 per evening.

Anyone wishing to try out the sport will be most welcome at Spalding High School Sports Hall on any of those evenings no matter their level of experience.

If that sounds of interest, visit www.tabletennis365.com/spalding – which will give contact details and other information.

  • Members who are still holding trophies are reminded that they need returning so that they can be engraved for presentation at the AGM.
