South Holland’s Ball shines alongside darting legend ‘Wolfie’

South Holland ace Claire Ball is currently the hottest thrower on the county darts scene.

Representing Cambridgeshire, Ball was on winning form as the team saw off Kent 4-0.

Her 24.24 average in a 3-0 victory earned her the award of lady of the match – and moved her above world champion Lisa Ashton in the overall standings in the country.

Ball, a regular player on the South Holland scene, played alongside legendary Deeping thrower Martin “Wolfie” Adams in the success over Kent.

Adams was on scintillating form as he roared to a 4-0 win with a 36.44 average. That was the highest throwing average of anyone in the country that week.

The performance clearly did Wolfie the power of good, as he romped to the Dutch Open title over the weekend.

Spalding butcher and respected local darting figure Ian Tilley was referee in both Ball and Adams’ county wins.

Tilley will team up with Wolfie again in May at the annual Truckfest event in Peterborough, when they will put on a darting exhibition.
