South Holland stock car stars all set for season opener at Adrian Flux Arena

Stock Car Racing is back with a bang this Saturday at the Adrian Flux Arena in King’s Lynn as the first meeting of the season gets into gear.

Kick starting what will be a huge year of action for the venue, the traditional season opener is a meeting fans and drivers flock to.

It is expected that fans will travel from all over the UK and across from Holland too with a pits full of cars – at the time of writing some 120 cars are booked in.

South Holland drivers will lead the charge with several in contention for top honours racing for a highly sought after memorial trophy. In the 1300 Stock Cars, Spalding’s

National Points and World of Shale Champion Dan Booth will be one of the favourites to take the chequered flag.

One of the best on the King’s Lynn shale, he could take some stopping.

Booth will have some quick drivers ahead of him to catch though, such as Spalding duo Ricky Ivatt and Jason Clow.

Ivatt won the under-25 championship in October last year, while took his first victory last time out in December, the first since joining the formula.

You can bet both will be wanting another trophy to add to the cabinet.

In the bigger 2 Litre Stock Cars, Wesley Starmer (from Holbeach) will be the one to watch – he is a very entertaining driver to watch on the shale, often in the thick of the action or in contention for taking a win.

The scene is set for another top draw night of racing, starting from 5.30pm, with thrills and spills the order of the day.

There is expected to be hard-hitting action entertainment from start to finish – and kids under the age of 11 go free.
