Stock Car and Banger Racing returns to King’s Lynn this Saturday (5.30pm) when the 1500cc Bangers will be in action in the East Anglian Team Championship.
There will also be racing from the 1300 Stock Cars and the 2L Stock Cars, with plenty of South Holland talent in action.
The 1500cc Banger Teams will include Jon Cullen, who is racing for Black’s All Stars B.
The two Black’s All Stars teams have been put together and will be managed by local racing superstar Matt Black.
Dan Booth (Pinchbeck) will be in action in the 1300 Stock Cars, while the 2L Stock Car entry includes Will Makins (Spalding), Simon Venni (Long Sutton) and Wes Starmer (Holbeach).
It will be the first appearance in a 2L Stock Car for Makins for over a year following injury.
Meanwhile, Booth made the trip to Lochgelly in Scotland to race in the 1300 Stock Car British Championship last weekend.
On an unfamiliar track and having to overcome the hostilities which all English drivers experience when crossing the border, Booth enjoyed some good results.
That included a fine fifth place in the British race and then managed to perform well in all of his other races – with a third place finish in one of the races on Sunday being his best.
Elsewhere, fellow South Holland racer Venni was able to take advantage of a downgrading (to yellow) to win both heats when he took his 2L Stock Car into battle at Northampton last Saturday.
However, mechanical gremlins sidelined him in the meeting final.
