Solid pace from F4 ace Hoggard at Snetterton testing event

Weston Hills talent Johnathan Hoggard clocked some competitive times as The F4 British Championship (certified by FIA) returned with two days of testing at Snetterton last week.

Following the summer break, all of the drivers were back in business at the Norfolk circuit – and it was Kiern Jewiss who set the pace on day one.

The Double R race ace was the first man to break the 1.52.00mins barrier, with his best time of 1.51.625mins put him 0.247secs clear of closest challenger Dennis Hauger.

A late flurry from Fortec Motorsports star Hoggard saw him break into the top ten, with his 1.52.951mins (morning) and 1.52.775mins (afternoon) seeing him take eighth in the standings.

Jewiss then maintained his position at the top of the timesheets by recording the fastest time on the second and final day of testing.

With less than ten minutes left on the clock Jewiss pumped in a lap of 1.51.726mins and then proceeded to better it moments later with a 1.51.698mins effort that was 0.272secs clear of JHR Developments’ Manuel Sulaiman.

Hoggard was again in the top ten on the second day of testing, clocking 1.52.616mins (morning) and 1.53.029mins (afternoon) to place tenth.

Attention now turns to the upcoming rounds of the F4 British Championship, which will take place at Snetterton this weekend.

Hoggard will be looking to return to something like his best form and challenge for a podium in what will be his first race since Croft at the end of June.
