Society’s stall raises awareness

The South Holland branch of the Macular Society were in Spalding recently raising awareness of the condition.

In association with Molsom and Associates Opticians, the charity’s members were on Spalding Market, handing out information on the condition.

They included Leonard Sharpe, the chair of the group, who has suffered macular degeneration in both eyes for the last 30 years.

“We’re just here to raise awareness of the condition that slowly takes away
your entire vision.

“It’s very satisfying meeting so many people, particularly some that have been diagnosed with it, and we’re able to tell them what support and help is available.”
