Gosberton B are starting to look over their shoulder at the Division Two drop zone after a thrashing from their A side.
It was an ‘away match’ which held no fears for the one-from-bottom A side, who romped to a 6-0 win.
Only two of the games were tight, but Carl Ward and Peter Waterfall prevailed against David Nichols and Martin Ulyatt respectively.
The margin of victory did Gosberton A’s hopes of avoiding the trapdoor no harm at all.
Services B are now seven points adrift at the foot.
Crowland A are in trouble too and were on the wrong end of a 6-0 result against leaders Bourne SC A. Mark Gray followed up his phenomenal 139 clearance the previous week with an 85 break in his defeat of Albert Thomson.
And Consti I leapfrogged Pyramid D in the table by taking five points off them. Peter Stokes, Stewart Wells, David Twelves and Richard Geddes were their winners in Bourne.
Meanwhile, in the top flight, leaders Tulips B edged a little further away from second-placed Donington C.
The Spalding side walloped Whittlesey 6-0, while Donington C dropped a point at Pyramid B. Matt Turner (R7) was edged out 90-73 in a good performance by Jason Green (O56).
Third-placed Services A remain five points behind Donington C with two matches in hand after a 5-1 win. Mick Pearl’s win prevented a whitewash defeat for Holbeach A.
Struggling Long Sutton A grabbed a couple of crucial points at Consti F.
Adam Barwell rattled off a 65 break en route to overcoming Martyn Stanley 98-88.
Mathew Smith was Sutton’s other winner, but victories for Bryan Turnell, Robert Adams and Justyn Stanley ensured the lion’s share of the points stayed in Spalding.
In Division Three, Consti J moved further away from the foot with a 6-0 defeat of lowly Whittlesey B. Nick Keeble brushed aside a 28-point handicap to beat Pawel Skutela 73-55, and scratch player Trev Braybrook enjoyed a 65-29 win over Andrew Skutela.
There was a change at the top as Gosberton D were replaced by Bourne SC B.
The deposed leaders slipped to a 5-1 defeat at Boundary C, Jack Craft their only winner. The result could have been very different but for Gosberton D’s Stuart Ruskin and Simon Slinger both losing on the black ball.
The defeat opened the door for Bourne SC B to go top, courtesy of taking five points at home to Consti A.
