Smokers’ canopy is part of makeover plans at Spalding’s Regent Bingo Club

Smokers at Spalding’s bingo hall could soon have a covered outside canopy.

The proposal is part of a planned makeover of The Regent Club in Westlode Street, including new signage at the front.
The 5m long timber decking area would have a polycarbonate roof and two high level electric wall mount heaters.
It would be at ground level on the right-hand side of the former cinema building.

Fisch Design, agent for the planning application, said: “The proposed smoking shelter will dramatically reduce congestion to the entrance of the bingo club, as this is currently the only place for customers to smoke on site.
“The installation of a new smoking shelter will therefore improve safety/facilities by clearing the pavement outside of the
entrance which is currently directly adjacent to a busy main road.”

The planning application by Majestic Bingo Ltd is being considered by South Holland District Council.
