Skip fire extinguished in Pinchbeck

Fire crews were called to Pinchbeck last night (Thursday, September 13) to put out a skip fire.

The incident at Goddard’s Yard off Pudding Lane was reported at 7.15pm.

Crews from Spalding and Kirton Fire Station attended and extinguished the blaze using one hose reel.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said that there was “severe damage to one skip and contents” as well as “heat damage to metal cladding on a commercial building”.

The firefighters were captured in action by Robert Fielding who sent in the above picture.

It was the beginning of a busy night for Kirton who in the early hours of the following day joined the water pump team based at Holbeach and eight other crews in attending a fire at a recycling plant in Ancaster that was categorised by the fire service as a “Major Incident”.

A crew from Spalding also attended the blaze at 7am this morning.
