South Holland Markets’ inaugural Market Trader of the Year award has been announced.
Julie Newman, who is on Spalding Market with the Sizzling Grill, came out top in a public poll to take the title.
It was held as part of this years ‘Love Your Local Market’ campaign.
She receives eight free markets for winning this year’s award
Julie, who has been on the market for around 13 years, said: “It’s a bit embarrassing, but very nice.
“A lot of people have told me I deserve it, but I just do what I do and I enjoy.”
Julie was presented with a bouquet from South Holland District Council’s Coun Tracey Carter – portfolio holder for communities and operational housing and markets officer Paul Stannard.
