The only competitive game in the Premiership of The Spalding and South Holland Voice Six-a-Side League on Monday night (November 30) was an entertaining top-of-the-table clash between Polishborough and You’ve Got No Fans.
This tie has created some memorable match-ups in the past – not always for the right reasons – but this outing was enthralling and football was the winner.
You’ve Got No Fans secured the victory with a solid 2-0 win and were thoroughly professional in their tactical beating of the then league leaders.
Guy Mantle was man of the match as his side secured their first win over the Polish outfit, staying second, but dumping the Poles down to third in the process.
The win actually carved the way for Football Club to return to the peak of the table, thanks to superior goal difference.
In the Championship, Simple FC’s revival was short-lived as they were walloped 4-2 by high-flying Romasexuals.
A brilliant, end-to-end game whereby both sides were strutting their attacking flair, but ultimately it was Romasexuals star man – pint-sized Damien Gibbons – that was the difference.
It means Romasexuals are unbeaten in four and their play here was deserving of the shape they are now in.
Pathetic Athletic secured their first win since joining the league six weeks ago as they surprised everyone with a credible 2-1 win over last season’s Division Two champions, Puyol Pants Down.
Maly & Team responded perfectly to last week’s blip in form by beating Horse & Groom 2-1.
Despite playing a game less than everyone else (they joined in week two), Maly & Team have been fantastic and have amassed eight points from a possible ten.
In League One, Bowlcut Wanderers FC absolutely destroyed Mail Carters 7-1, in the biggest scoreline of the night. Total domination for Bowlcut as they recovered well from last week’s defeat.
Although Mail Carters fielded a make-shift team, Bowlcut were still professional and strong.
Meanwhile, Macauley Grimwood took the man of the match plaudits as ABCDE FC strolled to a 4-0 win over Dynamo Kiev as the one-sided results continued.
Tekkerslovakia continued their very impressive unbeaten run with a 2-0 shutout against Loftus-Cheeky Nando’s.
Not only are they unbeaten for a long stint of time, but their goals against tally remains perfect for the opening six games of the campaign – that’s 240 minutes without conceding.
Tekkerslovakia now face three winnable ties before their title-clash with FC Salad Fingers on December 28.
