Sir John Hayes MP officially knighted by Prince Charles

South Holland and the Deepings MP Sir John Hayes received his knighthood from Prince Charles last week.

Sir John, Lady Hayes, their sons William and Edward (pictured left) travelled to Buckingham Palace to attend the ceremony.

He said the event was a huge honour for him and his family and had been memorable.

He also had the chance to chat with Nobel Prize winner Kazu Ishiguro, author of The Remains of the Day.

“We were queuing together and I am a great lover of literature so it was really nice to meet him,” said Sir John.
