Singers spring into the new season

All things Spring-like will be the theme of the South Holland Singers’ next concert, to be held at All Saints Church, Holbeach, on Saturday (March 14) at 7.30pm.

‘Songs of Renewal and Light’ is a life-affirming programme of songs specially selected from a range of genres and periods to reflect the arrival of Spring and everything the season represents and promises.

It is divided into four sections – Awakening the Season; Reflections and Growth; Home; and, finally, Joy and Celebration.

The concert, the choir’s first of 2026, marks a return for the choir to the Ho beach church, which celebrated its 800th anniversary last year.

Tickets are £10 and are available from choir members, Facebook, the SHS website or on the door. Under-16s are admitted free of charge.

The South Holland Singers rehearse every Thursday evening at Spalding Baptist Church in Swan Street, from 7.30pm to 9pm during the autumn and spring terms.

The choir, whose musical director is Samantha Caroline Graper, usually gives at least two concerts a year but also gets involved in other events in the area.

New members are always welcome – there are no auditions and although an ability to read music is helpful, it is not essential.
