Singalong for departing doc

An impromptu singalong of “For she’s a jolly good doctor” rang out at Pennygate Foundation at the surprise leaving party of Dr Azmeena Nathu last week.

Head of the next-door Pennygate Surgery, Dr Nathu leaves the practice after 32 years’ service.

Gifts and cards were left by patients and wellwishers at the gathering on Wednesday, September 5.

On the day, Dr Nathu said: “I’m very privileged to have been able to serve the community.”

A statement from Pennygate Surgery extended Dr Nathu’s thanks to “all the patients and friends who have presented her with gifts, cards, flowers, personal messages and lots of hugs and words of support”.

It continued: “Finally her heartfelt thank you to all, including her staff, past and especially the current staff for their amazing support to help achieve a personal goal and a fulfilling career.

“She wishes everyone a healthy and happy future.”
