Sing loud in South Holland

There are opportunities to sing your heart out this week

The South Holland Singers are recruiting new members and are looking for anyone to come to one of their practice sessions.
The group meets on Thursday evenings, 7.30pm to 9pm at Spalding Baptist Church on Swan Street.
A spokesman for the group said: “After the long inactivity forced upon us by Covid we will now be getting together again for informal sessions until the end of 2021, before starting to work towards a concert next summer.
“So why not come and join us and give it a go?”

On Saturday, September 25, there is an open invitation for the over 55s to come together at Springfields Festival Gardens in Spalding for a free Singing Together event from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.
It is part of First Time for Everything, a programme designed by the Royal Voluntary Service and supported by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The programme gives people an opportunity to try something new for free in their local community. Staying active and social have been proven to be important to keeping fit and well as we age.
Local singing coach, Ainjiel Clark, will lead the Singing Together event, with participants singing a variety of popular songs, which have been chosen specially for the event.
A spokesman said: “Everyone is welcome, no singing experience is required and printed lyric sheets will be provided. Singing can be thirsty work so free light refreshments will be available afterwards.”
Booking for the free First Time for Everything Singing Together event at Spalding is essential as places are limited.
To register for a place, contact Andrea Briggs, Royal Voluntary Service activity co-ordinator on 07468 701994.
