Signing spree bolsters Holbeach United squad

Holbeach United have unveiled a spree of new signings as they strive for a squad capable of winning the United Counties League Premier Division.

Experienced defender Ross Watson was captured early this week and he was joined yesterday by fellow ex-King’s Lynn Town striker/defender Danny Spencer, who has Conference North experience with Nuneaton and Solihull.

Tigers co-manager Graham Drury then made a swoop for three players who were integral to Oadby Town’s title-winning season in United Counties League Division One.

Goalkeeper Luke Pickering (19) has today been joined by formidable strikeforce Courtney Meade and Livodokuhle (Lee) Dube.

Meade scored 40 goals, including 30 in the league, and Dube hit 31.

Tigers co-manager Graham Drury said: “Courtney is very quick and direct and Lee is a big, strong target man.

“Both are young and raring to go and John (Chand) and I are really looking forward to working with them.”

Also making a switch to Carter’s Park is Boston Town utility player Ollie Pinner, who made more than 200 appearances in ten years at Tattershall Road.
