Showcase of textiles at concert at Holbeach chapels

These are some of the results of an ongoing project to create textiles for Holbeach Cemetery Chapels.

A one-day workshop was held to continue the project of creating eight panels.
Two panels will go on display at a Midsummer Concert with The Mirinesse Singers at the Park Road chapels on Wednesday (June 21).

Around 25 adults and also children from Holbeach Primary Academy and Gedney Drove End Primary have been working on the textiles project for several months.

Fiona Gurney, project manager, said: “This exciting project has developed through a real collaboration of ideas and the pooling of a wide variety of skills and talents. It has been great fun to work with so many interested volunteers.”
Tickets for the Midsummer Concert are free, as part of a Heritage Lottery funded scheme to explore potential uses of the chapels.
