Shooter to start off shop’s celebration

An Olympic shooter will fire the starting pistol on an event marking 70 years at a Long Sutton shop.

Aaron Heading, who lives in Spalding and represented England in the “trap” competition at London 2012, will officially open the three-day celebration at Pledgers, in Market Place, at 10am on Thursday, July 2.
Over the next three days, until July 4, all customers who spend more than £10 at the store, which specialises in electrical goods, repairs and toys, will receive a free raffle ticket, giving them the chance to win prizes including a £250 Pledgers voucher and a wine cooler.
At 11am on July 2, a representative from Samsung will be in store to demonstrate the benefits of new curved screen TVs, talk about soundbars and Smart technology as well as answer questions.
Also on Thursday, there will be Hotpoint demonstrations during the day and advice on induction cooking methods and other Hotpoint products.
Shoppers can also take part in SodaStream tasting and meet children’s favourite Peppa Pig, who will be in store with some of her friends.
On Friday, a representative of Linsar will be demonstrating its range of televisions.
On Satuday, July 4, Disney’s Frozen favourite Elsa will be in store from 10am to noon and there will also be a balloon art session in the afternoon.
Celebrations will be rounded off at 3pm when Father Jonathan Sibley draws the raffle winners.
