Year Seven pupils at UAH celebrated Christingle last week.
The Choir, Ukulele Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble and Mash Up Orchestra all showcased their musical talents.
Micki Carey-Slater, the Youth and Children’s Worker for East Elloe, and Rev Paul Carey-Slater, of Sutton Bridge, spoke to the pupils about the meaning of Christmas and the symbolism of the Christingle.
Some pupils also performed a short play about the meaning.
Greencell in Spalding kindly donated oranges and sweets for pupils to create their own Christingle over the weekend.
Sam Graper, head of performing arts, said: “Due to Covid it was a rather different event this year, with musicians performing in the hall and the rest of Year Seven watching via video but we still managed to create the magic and excitement of other years.
“For most, it was their first experience of performing in front of a live audience, a challenge to which they rose magnificently.
“My favourite moment of the whole event was having all the musicians perform the song Love Shine A Light together –it really gave me goosebumps!”
UAH is also holding a Christingle Colouring Competition, with all proceeds being donated to The Children’s Society.
