Meet one of the faces of 2025 locally – Turbo the Tortoise.
Every year the Face of Rooke’s competition is put on by the Spalding independent animal products store.
And its winner for this year is Turbo, a horsefield tortoise.
He takes over from 2024 winner dachshund Mabel.
It’s the 12th running of the competition and a spokesman for Rooke’s said it had received its most entries ever.
Turbo came out after a public vote of the final which included a Syrian hamster, a poodle and a leopard gecko.
“As the 2025 winner, Turbo will enjoy a host of prizes including a £100 voucher to spend in-store at Rooke’s, an exclusive 12-month Rooke’s discount card, and the honour of featuring in the store’s promotional material throughout the year,” the spokesman continued. “Keep an eye out for Turbo’s appearances and join us in celebrating his shell-shocking victory!”
