Serial flasher exposed himself to women and school girls

A Spalding man who was seen standing naked in the street has been remanded into custody after he admitted exposing himself on four occasions.

Marcus Cook, 55, pleaded guilty to exposing his genitals in London Road, Spalding on November 13 and November 17.

Cook, who lives on the road, also admitted two further charges of exposing his genitals in the same location on December 11 and December 12, 2023.

Lincoln Crown Court heard the first incident occurred on November 13 when a woman who was walking along London Road saw Cook standing completely naked on a public footpath outside his home.

When Cook noticed the woman he hid behind a fence but his top half was still visible, the court was told.

On November 17 the same women tried to take a photograph of Cook after he again came to the front door completely naked and appeared to pose for a picture.

The victim said she was shocked as there was a school nearby.

Cook was bailed by police but repeated his behaviour on December 11 and December 12.

On the first occasion another woman saw Cook stood by his front door completely naked and warned some nearby school children.

The next day four school girls were passing on the opposite side of the street when Cook was again stood fully naked on his front doorstep.

In his police interview Cook admitted the offences but said voices told him to do it.

The court heard a psychiatric report on Cook had highlighted his medical history and difficult childhood.

But Tom Heath, mitigating for Cook, asked for a further psychiatric report to assess an improvement in the medication he has been prescribed.

Mr Heath said although Mr Cook’s behaviour had been “entrenched” the change in his medication had stopped him from hearing voices.

“Mr Cook acknowledges he is in a difficult position and is expecting custody,” Mr Heath added. “At the moment he does not have an address to go to.”

Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight agreed to adjourn sentence on Cook after observing his sex offending was under-pinned by his mental health.

The Judge told Cook: “I’ve heard the facts of what you have done but I need to know how your mental health is being impacted by the change in your medication.”

Cook was remanded back into custody and will be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on April 30.
