Monday saw the semi-finals of each Spalding & District League divisional cup.
In the Division Two Dick Morgan Cup, PDC World semi-finalist Scott Williams beat Mail Cart’s Jacob Herd 2-1. Williams hit a 180 and his winning legs were 13 and 16.
Herd won his leg in 17 darts and in the final leg narrowly missed victory by missing double 16 for a 15-dart leg. He walked back to watch Williams hit a 16-dart leg to seal victory. The game had 16 scores of 100 or more.
Green Dragon won the game quickly by winning the first three pairs and the first two singles to seal a 5-0 victory. Paul Faulkner and son Josh won their singles for the Mail Cart with Paul hitting a 180.
In the final, Green Dragon will play league leaders Ye Olde Abbey, who sailed to a 7-2 victory against Tigers B.
Abbey started well by going 2-1 up and their strength in depth showed by winning five of the following six games, with Scott Lawrence hitting a 117 checkout.
Phil Horspool hit a 180 in his doubles game and the sole singles winner for Tigers was captain Ian McCreery.
The Division One Supreme Cup final will be between Rose & Crown and Tigers C.
Rose & Crown won 8-1 against last season’s Division One champions Drayman’s A.
Drayman’s started well by winning the first pairs game but then lost the next eight games.
The winning team’s player of the night was James Truman who hit a 17-dart leg in his singles win and a 14-dart leg with partner Hank Watson in the pairs.
Another comfortable win was recorded by Tigers C, who beat Consti E 7-2. They started off on fire by winning the three pairs games, which was followed by wins for Simon Hill, Mark Horspool, Ant Richardson and Duncan Hunt.
Hunt hit a 180 in his victory and Horspool threw a 16-dart leg before the duo joined up and hit a 17-dart leg in the pairs.
Jason Chilvers and Josh Ford were the Consti winners.
Division Three’s Kelly Foster Cup saw a top-of-the-table clash between Consti D and Holbeach Services.
Consti started strongly by winning the three pairs games but Services fought back and wins by Ross Aldridge and Chris Chamberlain looked as if the game was going to be close.
However, wins for Nick Collins, Colin Beckett and Ady Smith sealed victory for Consti.
In the final they will play Mail Cart B, who won a close game 5-4 against Lincoln B.
After going 2-1 up, Mail Cart were in the driving seat and then won three of the next four singles games to seal victory.
Steve Taylor had a 110 checkout and an 18-dart leg for Mail Cart, while John Charlton had a 119 checkout and an 18-dart leg.
