Semi-final defeat for Spalding Golf Club’s ladies in maiden Taskers Trophy run

Spalding Golf Club’s ladies were narrowly beaten by Lingdale in the semi-finals of the Taskers Trophy last weekend.

Both club’s travelled to the neutral venue of Little Aston Golf Club, Sutton Coldfield for what was a tense match with two of the seven singles matches carrying on down the 19th – but Spalding just lost out 4.5-2.5.

Despite the defeat, it was great achievement for the ladies in what was the first time they have entered the competition and they’ll hope to go one step further next year.

• The Handicap League match season has drawn to a close with Spalding ladies’ B team finishing second in their league.
