See much-hyped Blade Runner sequel at Boston West End Cinema this week

If you’re planning a trip to the cinema this weekend, I’d wager that Blade Runner 2049 is on your radar.

That’s right, Ridley Scott’s iconic 1980s sci-fi film finally has a sequel some 35 years later – and the early rumblings are that it’s going to be pretty awesome.

If you’ve not seen the 1982 Harrison Ford classic, it’s perhaps time you check it out ahead of the sequel, which sees Ryan Gosling star alongside the legendary Ford.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival/Sicario), Blade Runner 2049 also features the considerable talents of Dave Bautista (Guardians of The Galaxy), Robin Wright (Forrest Gump) and Jared Leto (Suicide Squad)

The rough (spoiler free) premise is this: Officer K (Gosling), a new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos.

His discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Ford), a former blade runner who’s been missing for 30 years.

Your first chance to see the Bladerunner sequel at Boston’s West End Cinema is tonight (Thursday) at 8pm.

If 3D is your thing, Boston are also showing it in that format at 4.30pm daily from Friday (October 6) all the way through until October 12.

Be sure to see next week’s Spalding Voice, or visit www.spaldingvoice.co.uk, to get our verdict on what is looking like being one of the best films of the 2017 so far.
