Search for missing Carol continues on Norfolk coast

The search for Carol Smalley is continuing today on the Norfolk coast where personal belongings of hers have been found.

The local coastguard, a helicopter and a police drone are being used in the search for the lady who was last seen in Spalding at lunch time on Wednesday (January 3).

The search for Carol is centred around the Hopton and Gorleston area of the coast. It’s been reported by media in Norfolk that the personal belongings found include Carol’s clothes and bag.

The search was suspended overnight, but resumed this morning (Friday, January 5.)

A Lincolnshire police statement released on Wednesday evening said: “Lincolnshire Police are concerned for the welfare of Carol Smalley.

“Carol is aged in her mid 50s she is described as a white female, about 5 foot 3 inches tall, she has short dark hair and is believed to be wearing a burgundy bobble hat, a beige parka style coat with light coloured jeans and black ankle boots.

“Carol has not been seen since lunchtime today, Wednesday 3rd January in the Spalding area.

“If anyone has seen or knows the whereabouts of Carol please can you contact us on 101 Ref Incident 413 of 3rd January 2018.”
