Scouting family hit the trail

Members of the scouting family came together for the annual TrailJam walk.

Squirrels, beavers, cubs, scouts, explorers, adult scouting volunteers and parent helpers were among those who walked 9.1km from Holbeach to Moulton recently.

The event allows different abilities join at various stages throughout the route, helping to ensure the event remains fully inclusive.

The journey began at Carter’s Park with 20 participants and 25 more joining at Sholt’s Gate.

At the last checkpoint at the Old Railway Line Bridleway in Moulton another 25 individuals joined for the trip to Moulton Park.

All participants then celebrated with hot dogs and refreshments.

Every person who completed their section of the challenge received an official TrailJam 2026 badge, presented by 1st Moulton and Whaplode Scout Group leader and organiser Kalene Claxton.

She praised everyone involved, saying: “What an amazing achievement for all sections involved.

“A huge thank-you to the adult volunteers and parent helpers who made this possible.

“The event highlighted the teamwork, determination, and community spirit that scouting encourages, with participants of all ages working together to complete the challenge and celebrate their achievement.
