School parking penalties

Almost 1,000 drivers parking illegally at schools in the county have received fines after being caught on cameras.
But almost a year after the county council revealed its plans for the cameras at ten schools with persistent problems, not all of them are installed.
South View Primary in Crowland was among the ten due to receive fixed cameras to catch illegal parking on roads outside schools. There are frequent issues with parking on zig zag lines or causing an obstruction.
Since December a total of 999 fixed penalty notices have been issued. A further 85 have been issued as a result of mobile cameras at schools.
“Cameras are not fully installed and operational in Crowland yet. Our plan is for the works to be completed over the school half term,” said a spokesman for Lincolnshire County Council which is behind the scheme.
