School head is to step down

The head teacher of Spalding Grammar School is to step down.

Steven Wilkinson will leave the position he has held since 2015 at the end of this academic year.
In a letter to parents he said: “The recent Ofsted report was positive (and I’m glad that I can leave on a positive note); however it also gave the school some clear indication on what needs to happen next.
“I have confidence in the senior leadership team to lead the staff to deliver those improvements, with your support, but feel that now is the moment to hand over to someone else to spearhead those developments.
“This has not been an easy decision to make.
“When I came to the school as headmaster in 2015 I had anticipated that I would probably be here until I retired.
“However, plans change, and I will be relocating to the Yorkshire Dales and taking up a teaching position there in September.”
