Saturday PDFL round-up: Eaton at the double as Sutton Bridge put pressure on Harrox Reserves

Matt Eaton hit a double to fire Sutton Bridge United to a 2-0 victory at Glinton and Northborough on Saturday as they continued their bid to hunt down ChromaSport PDFL Division One leaders Moulton Harrox Reserves.

Eaton’s brace took his tally for the season to 48 in 31 games – and Bridge are now just nine points behind Harrox Reserves, who were hammered 5-0 at Whittlesey Reserves.

The pair meet at Broad Lane on Saturday (2pm).

Elsewhere in Division One, Sam Moses (2), Matt Radeloff (2), Jonny Allen and Martin Ward all notched to give Long Sutton Athletic a 6-0 win at Riverside and Spalding United Reserves went down 3-2 at Netherton Reserves.

Up in the Premier Division, a Robbie Ellis goal couldn’t stop Crowland Town losing 3-1 at Netherton United.

In Division Two, Tydd St Mary were humbled 4-0 at Ramsey Town.

Elsewhere, Danny Firth (2), Lee Jackson (2), Harry Grigas and Joe Strickland bagged for Whaplode Drove as they won 6-1 at Division Four high-fliers Cardea.

Holbeach Bank also won 4-1 at Netherton B thanks to strikes from Andrew Baker (2), Ryan Ingle and player/boss Brett Schlechter.
