Saturday football: Moulton Harrox held in League Cup, Tydd upset Oakham, Crowland beaten

Moulton Harrox were held to a 0-0 draw by Warboys Town in the ChromaSport PDFL League Cup on Saturday and stay second in Group D.

Division One table-toppers Warboys remain top of the group after the stalemate, which was a fair result on the day.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Moulton’s Lincs FA Junior Cup final against Wyberton will be played at Boston United’s Jakeman’s Stadium on Friday, May 6 (7.45pm).

Next up for Bobby Patterson and Tim Cole’s side is a home clash with Stamford Lions in the same competition, with their Premier Division game against Leverington Sports this weekend postponed.

Also winning in the in the League Cup were Tydd, who got the better of top tier visitors Oakham United 2-1.

First-half goals from Luke Want (33) and Kyle Davis (41 pen) got the job done for the Division One side.
Crowland Town suffered a 3-0 home reverse against Stamford Belvedere in the same competition as Nathan Law hit a double.

Also beaten were Pinchbeck United Reserves, who went down 2-1 at home against Whittlesey Athletic Reserves.

Warren Hebblethwaite netted for the Knights, who had Leandro Manuel Silva Borges sent off.

In Division Two, a goal from Cameron Lee couldn’t stop Holbeach United Sports from losing 2-1 at Peterborough City.

Joseph Kelly’s last-minute winner was a sickener for the Tigers.

Down in Division Four, Sutton Bridge United lost a thriller at Netherton United A 3-2.

Mark Garner and Joe Sutton netted for Bridge, but goals from Ben Daly, Nishan Singh and Tom Wales struck back.

Meanwhile, the Division Five B clash between Leverington Sports A and Holbeach Bank was postponed.
