Saturday football: Holbeach United suffer defeat on final day of season

Holbeach United were beaten 1-0 at Kirby Muxloe on Saturday as their ChromaSport UCL Premier Division season came to a close.

The loss means that Seb Hayes’ side will only finish fourth if Deeping Rangers fail to win at Cogenhoe United in their season finale on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Yaxley were crowned ChromaSport UCL Premier Division champions after Wisbech Town could only draw 1-1 with Daventy Town. Both the Cuckoos and the Fenmen had already clinched promotion.

In the Evo-Stik NPL First Division South, Stamford lost their play-off final 2-1 at Bedworth (after extra time).

See next week’s Spalding Voice for plenty more football, including season reviews for both Holbeach and Pinchbeck United.
