Saturday football: Holbeach United roar to Vase victory, on-song Moulton Harrox victorious again

Holbeach United picked up an impressive 3-2 FA Vase victory at much-fancied Biggleswade United on Saturday as Jack Smith struck an extra-time winner.

The Tigers twice trailed in the First Round clash at Second Meadow, but Smith and then Spencer Tinkler both replied to force an additional 30 minutes.

That’s when the in-form Smith notched his second to put Seb Hayes’ side in the hat for the next round.

Meanwhile, Moulton Harrox remain in imperious form in the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division.

They thrashed Peterborough Polonia 4-0 at Broad Lane to stay unbeaten and seven points clear at the top.

Also on winning form were Holbeach United Reserves, who saw off Oakham United 2-1 at Carter’s Park will Callum Simmonds again on target.

There was as fine 4-3 victory for Sutton Bridge United over Ketton, too.

However, Long Sutton Athletic were hammered 7-1 at Peterborough Sports Development and Tydd went down 5-1 at high-flying Thorney.
