Ben Stafford again showed his seemingly limitless potential as he joined two Silicone Engineering team-mates to compete in the Hottrax three-hour endurance race at Oulton Park.
Along with Russ Mountford and Malachi Mitchell-Thomas, the trio competed in the 1000cc class due to Mountford riding a ZX10 machine. This instantly put them at a great disadvantage, as the other two riders were on 600cc machines.
Despite that, they achieved a creditable third position on the grid – and after three hours running the Silicone team crossed the line in a fantastic fourth.
All three riders then competed in two sprint races – with Saracen’s Head ace Stafford forced to ride in the top group – based on lap times – despite still being on a clubman licence.
Undeterred, Stafford and team mate Mitchell-Thomas battled in both races to take the spoils of first and second places – leaving the rest of the field some 20 seconds behind.
Stafford is back in action at round 11 of the BSB at Silverstone on the weekend of October 3-5.
