A hard-working Spalding nurse has been rewarded for her efforts in the South Holland community.
Sally Brown’s exploits were recognised as part of an everyday heroes in the community campaign run by pork pie manufacturer Pork Farms.
The 43-year-old was one of five lucky winners shortlisted from hundreds to win a Pop-Up party which was attended by her family and friends.
Sally, who works as a department sister at The Johnson Community Hospital in Spalding, was delighted by the surprise accolade after being nominated by colleague Teresa Sheriff.
She enthused: “I was in total shock. I was supposed to be going out for a meal with a friend so it was completely different to what I was expecting.
“It was very, very much appreciated and I’d like to thank Teresa for the lovely nomination.
“I was honestly really touched and really surprised.

“It wasn’t at all what I was expecting. It’s a really nice honour to receive this award and to receive recognition for the work that I do.
“I enjoy making my team happy and making sure they are supported.”
The national campaign to reward everyday heroes was launched in May and work-mate Teresa was thrilled to nominate her colleague.
Teresa explained: “The reason I nominated Sally is because she does an awful lot for the town itself and everyone around her.
“She puts herself second to her department at work and the people of Spalding.
“It was about time she felt appreciated and it was nice to say thank you where it was deserved.
“The fact that everyone at work had kept their mouths zipped in preparation for the surprise was not only a miracle but shows the respect and love we have for Sally.”
Kim Burgess, head of markets for Pork Farms, revealed that Sally had been chosen from a lengthy list of worthy nominees.
She said: “We had some amazing nominations and we are proud of our winners.
“It shows there are some very remarkable people really deserving of a celebration with their friends and family.”
