Sainsbury’s Spalding continues charity scheme

After raising a substantial sum for The Respite Association, Sainsbury’s Spalding has named its latest charity partner.

Following a vote by the store’s customers, cancer charity Macmillan will be the latest to benefit from the Local Charity scheme which is in its 10th year.

The Macmillan fundraising drive will officially be launched this weekend.

It follows the collections and fund raising events that raised £1,834 for The Respite Society which was recently presented with a cheque by store staff.

Dave Bassett, store manager said: “We’re really excited to be working with Macmillan, supporting such a fantastic cause.

“Everyone at Spalding is looking forward to working together for a successful partnership.”

Catherine Stone, of Macmillan, added: “We’re delighted to be named the new Local Charity partner for Sainsbury’s Spalding.

“We’d like to thank everyone who votes for us, becoming the Local Charity partner will make a huge difference to us.”
