Ryder Cup win for Tydd

On March 22, Tydd St Giles Golf Club captain Ryan Rout organised a Ryder Cup competition between Tydd St Giles and Sutton Bridge.

The event, held at Sutton Bridge, saw a very hard-fought competition with Tydd St Giles winning by just one point.

The competition was played in excellent conditions and a great day was had by all.

Rout thanked all for taking part.

Other results: Men’s March Stableford competition – 1st Wayne Alder 35 points, 2nd (ocb) Ady Bills 32 points, 3rd Dean Wright 32 points, 4th Paul Hunt 30 points.

Men’s pairs competition – 1st Wayne Davies and Darren McManus 42 points, 2nd Richard Young and Vajda Csongorarpad 41 points, 3rd (ocb) Michael Ewing and William Luckett 40 points, 4th Jamie Stott and John Nobbs 40 points.

Seniors’ Stableford competition Division One – 1st Brian Newby 36 points, 2nd Mick Vassall 34 points, 3rd Wayne Alder 33 points. Division 2 – 1st David Warnes 33 points, 2nd (ocb) Paul Milward 31 points, 3rd Martin Wells 31 points. Division 3 – 1st Baz Smith 34 points, 2nd John Durrant 32 points, 3rd Alec Harding 30 points.

* Tony Fox started his year of captaincy at Sutton Bridge Golf Club with a home win against Fakenham Golf Club by a score of 4.5 to 1.5 matches won.
