Moulton Harrox moved up to fourth in Division Four East of the Rutland Cricket League despite suffering an 85-run reverse against Castor and Ailsworth on Sunday.
Title-chasing visitors Castor won the toss at Broad Lane and opted to bat first, racking up a score of 210-7 from their 40 overs.
Hosts Harrox were unable to mount a serious challenge in their run chase, which stuttered to 125 all out in the 35th over.
That forced them to settle for five points from the clash, which saw them jump ahead of South Holland neighbours Long Sutton 2nd in the standings.
Cameron Fox, who was the pick of the Moulton bowlers with figures of 4-49, struck early as he had opener Saqib Farooq caught behind for a duck.
Fox also did for the other opener, Brandon Ingle (16), while Finn Roy (1-48) had Andy Mazouris (10) caught behind to make it an excellent start.
Indeed, Moulton also got rid of Sam Johnson (16), Connor Parnell (26) and David Porter (18) relatively cheaply to expose the tail.
But a partnership between Stuart Dockerill (67 not out) and Bevan Stokie (21) helped the visitors up past 200 and left Harrox up against it.
However, only three players managed scores in double figures for the hosts in their reply.
Openers Chris Beale (32) and Clive Bayston (16) started well, but only Steve Petzing (16) backed them up with any kind of score.
- Spalding conceded their game against Huntingdon and District in Division Three, meaning they face a 30-point deduction.
