Fresh from securing the Dewhursts Trophies Pinchbeck and District Summer Darts League Division A championship, Royal Mail Cart’s remarkable unbeaten season continued as they battled into the Knockout Cup final with a thrilling 5-4 victory over Consti Club C.
Having swept all before them in league competition, Cart again demonstrated the resilience and quality that has made them the dominant force.
The semi-final went down to the final game of the night before Dan Gent produced a nerve-jangling 2-1 victory over Harry Faulkner to seal his side’s place in the final.
The newly-crowned champions showed their class throughout the contest, with Chris Fidler and Jack Chilvers producing one of the performances of the night when they fired a superb 17-dart leg during their 2-0 pairs success.
Cart’s success did not end there.
In the qualifying rounds of the Pairs competition, both Fidler and Chilvers, and Gent and Daz Gedney, progressed to Finals Night, further highlighting the team’s strength in depth.
Also reaching the Division A pairs semi-finals were Connor MacKenzie and Harvey Elderkin, of Pinchbeck FC B, and Sam Roberts and Dean Murray, of Lincoln Arms A.
In the Division B and C sections, Connor Newton and Jake Harris of Drayman’s Arms B, Dean Peacock and Shane Jones of Green Dragon Z, Adam Robinson and Dom Clarke of Consti Club B, and Jason Chilvers and Tom Atkinson of Drayman’s Arms Q all secured their semi-final places.
