Roundabout to close for next two days as works continue

Halmer Gate roundabout is due to be closed for several hours tomorrow and Wednesday with road works takin slightly longer than initially expected, Lincolnshire County Council has announced.

Work on Low Road was due to start tomorrow (Tuesday, April 19) but will now start on Wednesday (April 20) after work on the roundabout itself concludes.

As a result, on both those days the roundabout itself will be closed.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire County Council said: “Please note that the road improvement works at Halmer Gate roundabout have been extended by two days due to a combination of minor unforeseen circumstances on-site.

“As a result, the team will return to site following the Easter bank holiday weekend. These works will be carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday April 19 and 20 from 9.30am to 2.30pm under a full roundabout closure from both days.

“Phase two of the project at Low Road will now take place from Wednesday April 20 to Tuesday April 26 from the roundabout to Low Fields Avenue, 9.30am to 6pm (the roundabout and all other legs, including Halmer Gate, will remain fully open).”
